Band-Aids Are Also Multi-Purpose
So Monday morning, Cora comes downstairs
with a band-aid on her finger. When I left her the night before,
there was no band-aid on the finger.
“Look, Mommy, see my band-aid?” she asked, waving the
finger in my face.
“Yep, sure do,” I said. “Did you just get it and
put it on this morning before coming down?”
“No, I had a drop of blood on my
finger last night and it needed a band-aid so I put it on last
night,” she said, chewing on her bandaged finger.
“Oh, honey, do you remember when I left you last night and I
told you that you needed to stay in your room?” I asked,
concerned I’d need to give her a consequence now for
disobeying.
“Yep, sure do!” she said proudly. “I didn’t
leave my room at all!”
Completely confused now, I said, “Then how did you get a
band-aid last night?”
“Well,” Cora explained excitedly, “I sat up,
pulled down my underpants, took the band-aid off my hiney and just
wrapped it around my finger! Isn’t it great?” she
finished, clearly proud of her ingenuity.
I stared at the band-aid that had been in intimate proximity of her
butt crack, now being gnawed in her mouth. “Um, yeah,”
I said feebly. “Just great.”
What else is there to say?
