Road Trip Tips
I mentioned about a month ago that I was
looking for ideas for car trip entertainment; Maddie and Cora have
birthdays close to each other and I wanted to get them some toys
and such we can use in our upcoming family vacation this summer.
Several of you responded with great ideas, and I’ve learned a
lot.
I have found some items I think will be
really great for the car, but I don’t want to recommend them
until they’ve been test-driven, if you’ll forgive the
pun. So as soon as Maddie’s birthday is over, we’ll
have given the girls most of their items and they’ll start
testing out car-seat trays and travel toys and such. Hang in there,
everyone.
But I did find one tip I can pass along now – it’s a
website called target="_blank">Mom’s Minivan. This woman, God bless
her, has an entire website dedicated to car travel fun. She’s
got a ton of game ideas, ways to make paper plates into racing
games, a thousand uses (plus demonstrative pictures) for a roll of
tin foil, links to great car-trip gear, and more. I found her Car
Bingo sheets to be good ones – you can print them out, use
stickers to fill in, and the kids are occupied for a good
half-hour. Or if you’re as crazy as I am and own a laminating
machine, you can laminate them and use erasable markers or crayons
to fill them in over and over again.
Take some time poking through the FREE website and steal her great
ideas. The sanity you save may be your own.
