Sunscreens Not Protected By The Constitution
Ladies and Gentlemen, not all sunscreens
are created equal.
The Environmental Working Group recently release a comprehensive
study of hundreds of brands of sunscreen, testing for
effectiveness, how well they live up to claims, how safe they are
for children, and more.
The EWG found that 83% of the almost 800
sunscreens they tested failed to provide adequate coverage, or
contained ingredients potentially harmful to us. The site provides
you with a lot of information on their study and the results, and
shows the ratings of the top and worst sunscreens. I was pleased to
see California Baby very high up on the list, which is good, but
found our Coppertone kids’ suncsreen on the bad list. Not so
good.
I don’t think this is a life-or-death issue, but with lots of
you heading off for family vacations you may want to take a second
to see where your coverage ranks. Click href="http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/special/sunscreens/summary.php">
